This is a selection of documents released by the Department of Finance under FOI. They consist of NAMA AG minutes from March 2012, and a NAMA internal document on its strategic plan. One of the lines from the minutes stood out for me:
Is this a plan to constrain housing supply to increase land/asset values in favour of NAMA?
This is the first of two sworn affidavits of RTE Business Editor David Murphy in the O’Brien V RTE case. It has been redacted following a court order prohibiting the reporting of certain details of Mr Murphy’s news report. These details were also argued on in court, but Judge Binchy also prohibited reporting of those details.
Over the past several months I’ve been asking Irish Water for a series of records under the FOI Act. Some of the results have led to more FOI requests, others have led to outright refusals, including one that has been appealed to the Information Commissioner. One recent refusal was particularly interesting.
An array of meetings within Irish Water and meetings with other senior officials, including two Ministers and with the Garda Commissioner, were not minuted. I asked for the minutes of particular meetings of which Managing Director John Tierney was a part. These included the following, where no minutes were kept:
